Dinah Jefferies will be talking about and signing copies of her new novel Before the Rains. She will be in conversation with Julia Gregson, whose latest book is Monsoon Summer.Dinah Jefferies was born in Malaysia and moved to England at the age of nine. Her idyllic childhood always held a special place in her imagination, and when she began writing novels in her 60s, she was able to return there – first in her fiction and then on annual research trips for each new novel. She is the author of The Separation, The Tea Planter’s Wife, The Silk Merchant’s Daughter. Before the Rains is a romantic, heart-wrenching tale of love against the odds.
Author of Jasmine Nights, The Water Horse, East of the Sun and Monsoon Summer, Julia has been named romantic novelist of the year, and East of the Sun was chosen for the Richard and Judy TV Book Club, becoming a Sunday Times bestseller. Her research has also taken her to Asia. Monsoon Summer is a compelling love story set in India.
