Join Harry Bucknall on a pilgrimage of sorts…around our island nation.

A tumultuous period in British politics left writer Harry Bucknall questioning whether he really knew the place he called home. Propelled by a growing desire to better understand his island nation, Harry decided to undertake a pilgrimage of sorts; he embarked on a series of four walks across Britain that would mirror the changing seasons, covering a distance of nearly 1,600 miles.

Uplifting, joyous and charming; A Road For All Seasons is a vivid, social and cultural snapshot of 21st-century Britain. For those feeling disillusioned by Britain today,   Harry Bucknall reminds us what makes it great.

After twelve years’ service in the Coldstream Guards, Harry Bucknall worked in the oil and mining industry and as a consultant in the Middle East. In 2006, he travelled from Venice to Istanbul through the Greek Archipelago. In the Dolphin’s Wake, the tale of his 5,500 mile journey, was published in 2011. Harry’s second book, Like a Tramp, Like a Pilgrim, was published in 2014, after he completed the 1,400 mile pilgrimage from London to Rome across Europe on foot.  Harry has also produced theatre on the London Fringe, sat on the Olivier Awards Panel and reviewed theatre for Arts Council, London
